| What a crazy three months it has been! As if
2008 hadn't already been on track to be a crazy year, something I never
expected hit me at the end of March. You might recall that last
time I mentioned that this was another contract renewal year at my job.
In years past, while the process was never a whole lot of fun, the
client always renewed the contract with my company, and life went on as
it usually did. As you can already probably guess, this year we
were not so successful. What exactly happened I'll never know for
sure, but all I know now is that the contract didn't get renewed, and
after 11+ years of faithful and outstanding service at the client, I was
summarily booted out the door, with not even the chance to transition
out my duties and say goodbye to all of my co-workers and friends.
On top of that, at the same time this happened I experienced a major
hard drive crash of my main hard drive. I have to admit I was in
tears several times when I started to realize that I might never be able
to get back some 20 years worth of documents and data.
Fortunately after a lot of frustration, time, patience, and a fair
amount of money I managed to recover a majority of what was on the hard
drive. I still have the bad hard drive on my desk as a reminder I
need to do backups more often. I am currently on the job hunt.
It has its ups and downs. I've been on several interviews so far.
Nothing that I want has panned out yet, but I'm not in panic mode - that
will come in a few months if I haven't gotten a job yet.
As far as updates here, I have added more pictures to the Tigger
pages. I have also updated some of the "regular" picture pages
- including the ones about myself, my partner, and a new page of
