Cedar Point - Magnum Dorney Park - Dominator Dorney Park - Talon
Magnum XL-200
Cedar Point
July 2001
me, Greg G.

Magnum was the first 200+ foot steel coaster.  I remember the year it opened.  We waited nearly two hours to ride it.

This picture is the first on-ride photo I ever purchased.  I am in yellow and my friend Greg from Michigan is next to me.  I have no idea who the goon choking himself is.

Kinda tough to see us, but here we are on the Dominator at Dorney Park.  We are the side that shoots you down, as opposed to the red tower which shoots you up.

Next to me again is Brian, Dan's boyfriend.  I think this photo was taken on my 6th or 7th lap on Talon that day.

Dorney Park - Steel Force

Steel Force is the sister coaster of Magnum.  They were built by different companies, but the design, styling, and colors of the two coasters are almost exactly the same.

I'm wearing the t-shirt that says "Skippy" (duh..... I love that t-shirt :)

Roar
Six Flags America

July 2002
me, Adrienne

One of the best wood coasters I've been on, this photo is from Roar at Six Flags America.  Adrienne has struck her usual pose here.  Not because she's trying to be a smart ass, but because she doesn't want to get my elbows in her face. :)

Superman: Ride of Steel
Six Flags America

July 2002
Adrienne, me

A sort of "baby-brother" to Millennium Force, Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags America is a fast and fun Intamin hypercoaster.

Power Tower
Cedar Point

August 2002
Brian, Dan, me

It looks just like Dominator at Dorney Park, but the Power Tower is 40 feet taller for a whopping 240 feet.  What a difference.

Mean Streak
Cedar Point

August 2002
Stephen, me

Mean Streak gets a bad rap nowadays.  In its first years, it was a killer fast and intense wood coaster.  Unfortunately, time hasn't been kind to Mean Streak, but it is still a fun ride.

Millennium Force

Dan (front); Greg G., me (middle); Len, Stephen (back)

Big.  Farking.  Fast.  Roller coaster.  Where to even begin to describe Millennium Force.  It's 300+ feet and 90+ mph and one helluva ride.

Nitro
Six Flags Great Adventure

June 2002
Janko, me, Adrienne, Stephen

Thank god this photo doesn't show how hot and sweaty we were on our trip to Great Adventure.  This Nitro on-ride photo was taken in the evening, after the sun had set, but certainly NOT before the heat and humidity had let up.  It was nearly 100 degrees all day, and the humidity had to be around 150%.

My former roommate Janko is sticking his tongue out.

Same people, different seats, same coaster, different time of day, same freakin' heat.

Steel Force

me, Adrienne

This was the last weekend Dorney Park was open for 2002.  Don't even ask what the hell we were doing.
